Seminar on Intellectual Property and Brand Protection in Egypt

In the context of the pursuit of counterfeit products sweeping across the market in Egypt, TLG Intellectual Property along with the Intellectual Property Rights Department of the Egyptian Customs, organized a ‘’Seminar on Intellectual Property and Brand Protection’’.

The Seminar lasted 4 days and included each of Port Said, Ain Sokhna, Alexandria and Cairo. It brought together international companies from the most prominent global brands, including Toyota Motor Corporation, Hugo Boss, Scheffler, NGK, Bora Creations, Lacoste, Bio-Oil, Dabur, and many other international companies along with representatives from the General Administration of Free Markets, the General Administration of Customs Affairs and Deposits, the Department of Legal Affairs, the General Administration of Free Zones, the General Administration of Trademarks, representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, the Customs, and many others.

The Seminar highlighted the provision of training and qualification for inspectors and refining their skills according to the latest data aimed at detecting counterfeit products and distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit products to reduce counterfeit goods that harm the consumers and the trademark owners.
