Jordan: Brand Protection Enforcement Authorities Training13-07-2021
TLG IP recently organized a Brand Protection training for the Jordanian enforcement authorities. As the legal representative of REACT* -the world's most trusted partner in anti-counterfeiting- and in collaboration with Al- Bayan Legal Consultants Firm, TLG’s workshop aimed to reinforce the authorities’ expertise in distinguishing authentic merchandise from counterfeits, as well as raise awareness of the risks of counterfeits smuggled into the Jordanian market.
The training was hosted by Hatem Abdel Ghani, Partner and Director of TLG IP, and Zaid Keelani, Legal Consultant, for the benefit of Customs Authorities comprising the Anti-Smuggling Department, Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO), and Jordan Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The regular participation in the training by the enforcement authorities has aided in the development of their abilities by keeping them informed and up to date on the latest counterfeiting strategies. This also contributes to informing the public about the illegal activities carried out by counterfeiters this year in order to ensure public safety and protect the trademark owner's intellectual property rights.
The lack of quality in counterfeits not only harms customers, but it also weakens the economy of the country and the original trademark owner. Therefore, TLG has been mobilized to protect consumers and trademark owners from counterfeit goods by taking swift and effective action as and when required.
